OFFICE DESIGN
THE STORY
The concept for my own interior design office was inspired by my brand logo, my logo is made up of my initials and forms a butterfly symbol.
“A butterfly can flap its wings in China and cause a hurricane in the Caribbean” - a quote by Andy Andrews.
This quote signifies the mighty power that something as delicate as a butterfly can have.
I believe this relates directly to the delicate power of interior design. It may seem insignificant, but the spaces we spend our time in have a great impact on our well-being, emotions, productivity, and way of life. I am passionate that the power of design should not be taken lightly, and through the symbol of the butterfly my office represents this idea.
INFLUENCES
With the organic lines and shapes of the butterfly, my inspiration came from Art Nouveau. William Morris, the philosophical forefather of the movement believed that art had the power to make everyday life beautiful, as I believe is the same for interior design. Art Nouveau is characterised by organic lines and motifs, the use of glass, mosaic, wrought iron, and wood (Rise Art, [n.d.]).
